Protection is available for topography relating to the design of the interconnections of an integrated circuit. In order to be registrable, the topography must be original and filed within two years of commercial exploitation. In addition, the topography must have been (a) created by a Canadian, or (b) by a legal entity having a topography creation facility or integrated circuit manufacturing in Canada, or (c) treaty country, or (d) first commercially exploited in Canada.
